This sculpture came to life when I was attending the Lord Mayor of London's parade one freezing day of November 1992. I was standing by the old pub at Blackfriars and this friend was telling us about a story with someone and a butterfly... As he was standing there in his large coat and a Russian hat, I imagine this dancer alone on a stage and focusing entirely on a butterfly resting in the palm of her hand...
